Did you know that 2020 is Art's 1 000 057th Anniversary?
Art's Birthday is an annual event, first proposed in 1963 by French artist Robert Filliou. He suggested that until 1 000 000 years ago, there was no art. But then one day, on the 17th of January to be precise, Art was born! According to Filliou, a public holiday should be announced to honour the presence of Art in our lives. Every January 17th since 1963, Art's Birthday has generated parties, concerts, broadcasting and performances in many places around the globe. In Gnesta, Art’s Birthday 2020 will be celebrated in the old Watertower.*
